Emily Silverman (E-RYT500) started teaching yoga in 2007 in Amherst, MA. She and her husband, Mike, moved to Chatham County, NC in 2010, and Emily has been actively teaching group and private yoga classes in North Carolina ever since. Emily and Mike recently relocated to Leland, and she is excited to be a part of the yoga community here. While trained in traditional hatha yoga with her primary teacher, Dharma Mittra, in NYC, Emily continues to advance her knowledge of yoga with a variety of courses, including Dynamic Gentle Yoga, Integrative Yoga for Seniors, and Yoga for Youth. She has a special focus on teaching yoga for balance. Her students have ranged in age from 3 to 95. Emily is a former university librarian and library fundraiser, certified therapy dog handler, and hospice volunteer.
