Amy’s passion for yoga ignited when she discovered hot yoga. After spending two months on crutches from a severe running injury, someone recommended hot yoga. After three months of practice, her mobility fully returned, and she was hooked. Something else wonderful had taken place too, her overall wellbeing had greatly improved. After experiencing bouts of depression throughout her life, she found peace in her mind. Feeling enormous gratitude, she became a 200hr RYT in 2015 in Raleigh at the kRtajJatA Yoga School, with the goal of creating space for others to find their own happiness, whatever that may be. She is currently working towards her 300 hr Teacher Training in Therapeutic Essentials at Wilmington Yoga Center. She became a Reiki Master in 2016. Reiki is a wonderful way to tap into the universal energy of love, which she offers to yoga practitioners during class. She finds sound to be a tool for peace, and sometimes incorporates singing bowls, bells, singing and guitar playing during class. Even though hot yoga began her yoga journey, she has found that every type of yoga is just as beneficial, and her passion keeps growing.
