“In a gentle way, you can shake the world” Mahatma Gandhi
Kristen began her Yoga journey in college when she took a Stress Management class that turned out to be a Yoga Class. When she returned home, she searched high and low for a yoga teacher and living in a rural area, none were to be found. Yoga planted a seed in her heart, and it was years later that she was able to take classes again. When sciatica sidelined her from running, she got back to her search and by that time she found an inspirational teacher, Denise Kay. After many years of practice, Denise encouraged her to become certified and she received her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2012. During that training, Kristen was introduced to Ayurveda and dove into studying Ayurveda at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA. She completed her Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist training in 2016 and then went onto become an Ayurvedic Health Counselor in 2018. During the beginning stages of the Pandemic, she continued her Ayurvedic Studies with a specialized course in Ayurvedic Digestion and Nutrition while going through her own digestive crisis. Through Ayurveda and Yoga, Kristen has begun the healing process of her own digestive issues and found great balance in applying these ancient principles to her everyday life. After many years of searching for the right Advanced Teacher Training to complete, Kristen found Sampoorna Yoga. Sampoorna Yoga is the Yoga of Fullnees covering Hatha Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Raja Yoga, Nada Yoga and Karma Yoga. Being completely inspired that training, Kristen continues to study the many facets of Sampoorna Yoga daily.
Kristen continues to study yoga philosophy and is inspired to share this Ancient Wisdom with anyone whether in her class or outside of class. Kristen teaches a wide array of classes including Power Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Pilates, Yin, Restorative Yoga, Meditation, Prana Pump, HIIT, Mandala Flow, and Ayurvedic Workshops as well as guiding Ayurvedic Group Cleanse Workshops.
