Apple Pie. Yes, Please!

It’s that time of year again. Fall is in the air and apple season is in full bloom. Time to warm up your house with the delightful smell of fresh apple pie baking in the oven. Try this scrumptious recipe that is not only easy to make but super nourishing as well!

Apple Pie

Ingredients

Crust
2 cups King Arthur’s white whole wheat flour
1 tsp. sea salt
1 TBS. coconut sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup ice cold water

Filling
5-6 organic apples
2 TBS. orange juice
1/2-3/4 cup agave
1tsp. cinnamon
3TBS. white whole wheat flour

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350.

Crust: place all ingredients in a food processor and mix. Roll into large circle and place in pie pan. Create a ridge around the rim. Place in refrigerator until the filing is ready.

Filling: Peel apples and slice into thin pieces. Place in a bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Mix well. Pour into crust and place in oven for 45 minutes to an hour. Remove from oven and let sit for about 15 minutes or more so the liquid thickens and cools. Voila! Enjoy!
