COVID-19 Updates

Our Community is You

Your health + safety is our top priority!

On September 5th, North Carolina will be moving into Phase 2.5 of re-opening.  Phase 2.5 allows for us to re-open at 30% capacity.  We know many students are eager to get back in the classroom, but for those who aren’t we will be continuing to stream our classes from the studio. and to offer outdoor yoga classes.  In the studio or over zoom, we are here for you!

Stay Home if You Are Sick

Our staff is committed to limiting the risk to our community by staying home if they are sick.  We will be implementing temperature checks for all our staff members. Anyone with a temperature will be asked to leave the studio + self- quarantine for a minimum of two weeks or until they are able to provide a doctor’s note stating that they have been tested for the virus and are not infected.  We will have contract tracing procedures in place and students will be asked to confirm that they are not sick + have not been in contact with an infected person prior to the start of practice.

Cleaning + Sanitizing

We have a heightened deep cleaning process in place.  Frequently touched surfaces like door handles, bathrooms, sinks, toilets, and cubbies will be wiped down after each class + deep cleaned 2x per day.  Hand sanitizer, sanitizer stations, soap + disposable towels will be made available.  The studio floors will be bleached between classes.

We have implemented a temporary afternoon closure (12:30pm-2:30pm) in order to steam clean the floors and deep clean the common areas.

We will provide wipes or towels and disinfecting spray for members to wipe down their mat and practice space.  Additional sanitizer will be made available throughout the studio.

We encourage you to sanitize your hands before and after class.

Social Distancing

If you are taking a HOT class, please wait outside the Fire Room door until you are instructed by a staff member to enter.

If you are taking a NON-HEATED practice, please wait outside the door to the lobby until you are instructed by a staff member to enter.

Please keep the flow of traffic in mind and maintain six feet of distance between yourself and others in the studio.  Floor markers have been installed indicating a safe distance in the lobby and outside on the balcony.  Additionally, the studio floors will be marked to allow for a limited number of mats in the studio. In accordance with CDC guidelines, these spaces will be a minimum of six feet apart.  Please remain on your mat in the studio + refrain touching or hugging other students.

Per the current Phase 2.5 guidelines, class size will be limited to 11 students to meet the 30% capacity rule by the Governor.

Personal Protective Equipment

All Wilmington Yoga staff will be required to wear a mask while in the studio.  After deep cleaning activities staff will wash their hands + replace their masks.

Masks are required for yoga. Students will need to wear a mask upon entering the studio.

Hands Free Check In

Students are REQUIRED to sign up for class via MindBody, the website or the Wilmington Yoga App prior to arriving at the studio. All Payments are to be processed online prior to arriving. If you need a discount code please contact the front desk. This is to protect you as well as the staff when processing check in. No “walk ins” will be permitted.

If you register for an in-person class and then cannot make it, please go back in and cancel 12 hours in advance.  Any no shows will be charged $15 for non cancellations.

Props + Amenities

To avoid the risk of community transmission, we are unable to offer community props until further notice. Students are required to bring a mat (blankets, blocks, and straps are optional) to class with them. Towels and washcloths are no longer supplied.  Cubbies will not be available. We ask that bring your  shoes + keys with you into the practice space. The showers and water fountain will also be temporarily unavailable. Water bottles are permitted in class and can be filled from our water station, but the shared water fountain will not be available.

We highly recommend bringing only necessary items into the studio + leaving everything you do not need locked in your car.

Studio Hours + Schedule Updates

Please check the online schedule for up to date information about which classes will be held in-person.

New Class Policies

Wilmington Yoga’s policies have always guided a safe and fun environment for teachers and students. As we make changes for reduced class sizes and sanitation procedures, we must amend our previous policies. Please take a careful look at the new policies and be ready to follow them as you return to the studio. Students that do not follow the new policies will not be permitted to take class and late cancellation penalties will apply.

Practice Caution

Do not come to class if you are feeling under the weather, including, but not limited to flu or covid-like symptoms. If you register for class and decide that it is best to cancel, please contact Ali, Jess or Rebecca to ensure you are not charged any late cancelation fees. If you DO cancel with the assumption that you have Covid symptoms, you will be asked to stay away from the studio for at least 14 days or until you have received a negative test result for Covid-19.

Class Registration + Cancellation

As our class sizes are dramatically impacted by social distancing and sanitation procedures, we will enforce temporary registration + cancellation policies that are more stringent than our previously held policies. To ensure that we are able to serve as many of our members as possible, in-studio class visits will be limited to one per day. Members will still receive unlimited access to streaming + outdoor classes.

Registration Window:

Online Classes – please register at least 30 minutes prior to the start of class to ensure that you receive the link to the classroom.

In-Person Classes – registration may be made until the class starts, based on capacity.
