Anatomy of Yoga Teacher Training

Take your practice to a deeper level with this hands-on anatomy course

*Required 300hr Service Leadership Track

Specifically designed for yoga teachers and serious practitioners of yoga, this teacher training presents the anatomy and function of the major muscles and joints and how they are involved in yoga Asana. Review the anatomical structures of the body and learn how yoga can help to treat and prevent injuries. Work with an experienced physical therapist and learn how to assess and modify an asana practice for injury prevention and treatment. Lecture topics include the physiology of pranayama, core stabilization and how anatomy provides the base of our entire asana practice, as well as specific musculoskeletal issues and injury prevention.

  • how to use asana, pranayama and meditation as therapy

About Jess Hartmann, RYT500

Teaching Specialist, Jess Hartmann, RYT500 is a graduate of the Wilmington Yoga Center 220Hr Kunga Yoga & Lifestyle Teacher Training program with Kristin Cooper-Gulak and Katie Serino and is recently completed her Kunga Yoga 500 Hour certification. Jessica has experience leading the Anatomy module of the 220hr YLTT and teaching a variety of classes at the WYC.Jessica is a graduate of Duquesne University with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. She has more than 10 years experience working as a manual therapist in a variety of clinics in Wilmington. Jessica has been teaching therapeutic yoga in the clinic for three years and is currently working on completing her Professional Yoga Therapy Certification in order to continue combining her career with her passion for yoga.

Jessica is a firm believer that yoga can truly be used as medicine. She is extremely excited to see yoga become more recognized by medical professionals as a both a preventive measure as well as a treatment tool. She believes yoga is fantastic for both injury prevention and relief and would like to continue educating others about the human body and it’s beauty in our yoga practice. Jessica enjoys teaching group classes and individual sessions focused on the principles of anatomy and biomechanics.

CEUs & Yoga Certification Info

  • 18 of CEU Hours toward 300 YA or CEUs
  • $15 Additional CEU certificate due at time of registration
  • Participation in full workshop required to receive 500YA credit.
  • This certification counts as one required module towards 300Hr registry in the Service Leadership 300hr program

Cancellation Policy

Refunds are available for account credit only. 10 days prior to the workshop cancellation is permitted for account credit only minus a $25 administrative fee. 10 days and closer to the start date of the workshop the total tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable.
