In this training, we will analyze, observe and practice all of the elements of Yin Yoga in depth. We will examine ourselves on a personal level with ancient meditation techniques that guide us into a steady awareness of the changing sensations in the postures. We will study the poses with slides of real bones and by articulating the joints on a plastic skeleton. We will also engage in a hands-on study of each other with anatomical range of motion (ROM) tests. The study culminates in a truer understanding of the the infinite variety of human bodies (from the bones up), and the experience of truly settling into our unique asana.

About Joe Barnett, ERYT500

 Joe Barnett, ERYT-500, home-based loosely between Cincinnati, OH and Tucson, AZ, has been teaching for over a decade. He travels nationally and internationally year round offering presentations and trainings on Yin and Yang (Vinyasa) forms of Yoga as well as Chakra and Meridian Meditation.

Joe’s main focus of study is Functional Anatomy for Yoga. He is a senior student and primary teaching assistant of Paul Grilley (paulgrilley.com), a true Yoga Scientist who is responsible for the current rise in the popularity of Yin Yoga. After several years of apprenticing under Paul, Joe began traveling nationally and internationally to train yoga teachers how to understand and feel the full range of motion of their joints and their students’ joints using Grilley’s Taoist Analysis of the Skeleton.

However, Joe’s play time is usually spent practicing, teaching and drawing others into AcroYoga which he has been playing since 2006 when he met Jason Magness (yogaslackers.com) with whom he continues to train/play whenever he can. In 2010, Joe traveled to Montreal to receive both levels of certification through the original AcroYogis Eugene Poku and Jessie Goldberg (acroyoga.com).joebarnettyoga.com

• Participation in full workshop required to receive 500YA credit.

Cancellation Policy

No refunds will be given for workshops. 10 days prior to the workshop cancellation is permitted for WYC account credit only (minus a $25 administrative fee). 10 days and closer to the start date of the workshop the total tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable.
