So you see all these letters behind your teachers names, but what do they mean? To equate yoga teacher trainings to college degrees, we can consider a 200hr training as getting a Bachelor’s degree and then a 300hr training would be like getting a Master’s degree. At Wilmington Yoga we offer several different curriculum for both 200hr and 300hr trainings.
Our 200hr trainings are foundational and perfect for anyone looking to deepen their own personal practice or take things to the next step and teach.
Our longest standing 200hr program is our Kunga Yoga + Lifestyle Teacher Trainings, which teaches students skills for “living yoga” both on and off the mat while working towards their 200 hour certifications. A Kunga training provides a unique opportunity to learn about different traditions within one cumulative program. Our next curriculum is our Mindfulness + Eightfold Path Yoga Teacher Training that allows students to travel through Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga as you explore your own personal philosophy and asana practice in this eight-weekend Yoga Lifestyle + Teacher Training. Experience the power of your mind and body through detailed instruction on all of the eight limbs: yamas, niyamas, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, and samadhi. And in 2018, we are launched a Find Your Power Yoga Teacher Training that will stoke your inner fire, giving students the tools to turn ordinary into extraordinary with this powerful immersion-style yoga lifestyle + teacher training, specially tailored for aspiring yoga teachers, personal trainers, and athletes. Discover limitless strength while learning to teach power yoga safely and effectively to your students. Any of these programs will equip you with the tools you need to successfully register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200 and lead students through a yoga class.
Once you have your 200hr training under your belt, we also offer 2 different curriculum tracks in our 300hr trainings.
Our accelerated one year 300hr yoga instructor programs build on the technical skills you learned in your 200hr program and help you deepen your approach to teaching. Choose your path: Power Vinyasasa, Kunga Service Leadership or Kunga Therapeutic Essentials. The Kunga modules will take you deeper into yogic philosophy and understanding the practice of yoga while providing opportunities to learn and experience what it means to be an inspiring yoga teacher who can help bring true transformation to students’ lives. All our 300hr trainings will help you develop into a unique and inspired yoga teacher by building your confidence in advanced elements of yoga, enhancing your skills and knowledge, and cultivating an authentic teaching style. Our Power Vinyasa training features over 60 hours of anatomy and advanced inversions trainings. The Kunga Service Leadership track will deepen your knowledge of yoga by learning advanced techniques in gentle yoga and meditation, anatomy, restorative, kids, pre/postnatal, business basics, boot camp and juice detox, senior yoga, assisting and, most importantly, about yoga off the mat and as a form of service. And the Kunga Therapeutic Essentials track will allow you to specialize in yoga as therapeutically-oriented, whether it be for musculoskeletal conditions, psychological states or a combination of both. This 300hr track combines the expertise of five highly accredited and nationally recognized yoga teachers + our own senior Kunga faculty.
Both of these programs (either 200hr or 300hr) offered at Wilmington Yoga are part of our Registered Yoga School through Yoga Alliance, allowing graduates to register themselves once complete as well.
